Bulgaria
is located in South-East Europe and is bordering with Turkey (South-East),
Greece (South-West), Macedonia and Yugoslavia (West), Romania
(North) and the Black Sea (East). Due to its key location, Bulgaria
is an important trade and economic crossroad between Europe and
Asia. It is an ancient country with rich historical, cultural
and folk heritage and traditions, which combines both natural
beauty and modern mountain and sea resorts at affordable prices.
All these factors have established Bulgaria as one of the most
attractive countries of tourism and recreation in Europe.
Varna, Bulgaria's third largest city, is a magnificent
coastal city located on the Black Sea. Participants will have
time to explore Varna and the beautiful environs
of
the Black Sea area. Varna offers an abundance of reasonably priced
restaurants with a wide variety of cuisine, plus the excitement
of being an international tourist destination. There are many
historical attractions, including the Archeological Museum, where
the oldest gold in the world is displayed, the Roman Baths Ruins,
and the beautiful semi-island of Nessebar, with its ancient history
and mixture of many cultures.
Winter workshops participants will be housed
in apartments conveniently located in close proximity to the rehearsal
hall and to major tourist attractions in down town Varna.
Summer
workshops participants stay at the famous sea resort, Golden Sands.
Golden Sands is the pearl of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and
is located 10 miles from Varna. Stretching for two miles, the
Golden Sands has glorious scenery, wooded hill sides sweeping
gently down to meet one of the world’s most beautiful beaches
and the blue sparking sea. It is a modern resort which combines
both natural beauty and all forms of entertainment, including
the following: swimming pools, tennis courts, sport centers, sky
bars, restaurants representing different national cuisines, mineral
springs, health centers, etc.
